What is the Alpha Course?
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.
Who is it for?
The Alpha course is designed primarily for people who aren’t churchgoers but is also ideal for those either want to move on in their understanding of the Christian faith or who would like back to basics experience!! People attend the course to help them to find answers to some of the big questions such as;
Is there a God, and what is He (or She!) like?
Who is Jesus – and does it matter?
Do I have to be good – or religious – to be a Christian?
Does prayer work?
Is the Bible reliable?
How can I have faith?
What’s Church all about?
This is what the press had to say about Alpha!
“What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions – life and death and their meaning.” The Guardian, London
“What distinguishes Alpha from other initiatives is the easy-going, relaxed feel of the proceedings – that, and its astonishing success.” The Times
